About Well Beans Therapy - Kids Version

For Kids

Otti Says: We’re Not Everyone’s Cup of Tea (and That’s Fine by Me)

Hi. I’m Otti.
I’ve got a rock in one paw, a sensory chart in the other, and statistically zero interest in being polite about prawns in tea.

Because let’s be real we’re not everyone’s cup of tea.
Neurodivergent or neurotypical, literally no one wants shellfish in a teacup.
Flipper-flapping, tongue-raspberrying, dis-gus-ting.
That’s the vibe mismatch some people feel when they walk into therapy expecting filtered feelings and tidy talk.

But not here.
Here at Well Beans, we serve sensory snacks, not social niceties.
We make space for the wriggly, wobbly, wall-climbing ways that real humans express themselves.
Whether you communicate through stims, metaphors, eye contact avoidance, meltdown-mode honesty, or tactical silence… we get it.

You might bring a meltdown instead of a mood board.
You might show love with a fact dump or a sideways glance.
You might otter. Loudly. Awkwardly. Sincerely.

That’s our cup of sea.
No sugar. Just salt, depth, and a generous dash of evidence-based mischief.

So yeah, we’re not for everyone.
But if your brain has ever packed you a weird lunch of brilliant ideas and broken spoons
Welcome home.

Love,
Otti (he/him, Ottistc Otter, Data Custodian of the Esky)

Kids.. Why Well Beans Happened.

The Why... to Well Beans

I didn’t start Well Beans because everything was perfect.

I started it because it wasn’t.

Because I’ve got two kids and I’ve watched them go through things they shouldn’t have had to.

I’ve seen one try to hold it together at school while their brain was doing backflips.
I’ve seen people say “They are doing fine” when they were falling apart inside.
I’ve read reports that made them sound broken. They're not. They are brilliant.  if you know where to look.

I’ve watched my other child, get in trouble for things that weren’t their fault
Things that made perfect sense if you understood their brain.
But too many people didn’t. Or wouldn’t.

And me?

I grew up feeling different too. Like I was meant to follow instructions no one ever explained.
I felt everything. I learned fast. I noticed too much.
But I only found out I had ADHD as an adult.
It made everything click.
Like, “Ohhh. It’s not that I was lazy, or too much, or broken. My brain just worked differently the whole time.”

That’s when I stopped waiting for someone else to fix the system.
I built something better.

That’s how Well Beans was born.

It’s a place for kids who feel things deeply.
Who move big.
Who hide small.
Who ask the hard questions.
Who get in trouble for the wrong reasons.
Or feel like the world forgot to hand them the manual.

At Well Beans, we don’t tell kids to be calmer, quieter, better-behaved.
We ask:
What makes you feel safe?
What helps your brain work?
What helps your body settle?
What do you wish adults actually knew about you?

Sometimes we start with squishy toys.
Sometimes we start with tears.
Sometimes we start with Pokémon or Greek gods or how clouds are made.
That’s okay. We go where you go.

Because when you feel safe enough to be real that’s when things start to make sense.

This isn’t a place for behaviour charts and sticker rewards.
It’s a place for truth, understanding, and jelly beans (yes, literal ones — Otti insists).

If you’ve ever been told you’re “too sensitive” or “not trying hard enough” or “fine” when you’re clearly not

I see you.

You’re the reason I built this.

and that is Well Beans for ya...
